Some times there may arise some problem in adding a domain using WHM Creade account function and recive this error message that indicates the domain i still in virtualhost in apache configuration httpd.conf
this may have many reasons that mostly is because of
1-that domain is added before and is the primary domain of one of the accounts or it may have been used as an addon or parked for some other domains and accounts
2-Or due to some technical problems the addon parked or primary domain has not been fully removed after removeing function

If it is in case 1 you could easily remove that domain from Cpanel and even if with those remove functions you may get the following error
Error from park wrapper: Sorry, you do not control the domain
or if it is in case 2 please follow these steps to resolve the issue:
First step is to find who owns the domain that you can use the built-in cpanel scripts

/scripts/whoowns domain.com

if it didn’t find any try the following instead:

grep domain.com /var/cpanel/users/*

The result is something like the following:

root@server [~]# grep vanakstudio.com /var/cpanel/users/*
/var/cpanel/users/vanorg:XDNS1=vanakstudio.com

as you can see we could find the user that owns that domain the only thing is left is to edit the following files with the corresponding User and just remove the lines containing the domain you have issue with.

/var/cpanel/users/username file
/var/cpanel/userdata/username/main file
/var/cpanel/userdata/username/sub.domain1.com file
